The world lost a true hero and great family man.Its sad that sick little craps have to pop up after a person dies with rude and false statements.Yes its also sad about children or anyone else being abused, but join a cause fight for what you believe in .Steve Irwin died doing what he believed in and the world is a better place because of him.
Have YOU done anything for the animals or children you mentioned?Go to work at a soup kitchen, pass out sandwichs to the homeless, spend a day cleaning the beaches or other areas where wild life live. Then maybe you won't feel like running down other people doing all they can to make a difference.

This guy was in the public eye that's why there is so much public grief for him, plus he was a good, decent human being and of course the stingray isn't to blame. He must of realised the dangers of his job but that doesn't mean he deserved to die, at least he had a good life with a loving family.
I was really upset to hear of Steve Irwins death but that doesn't compare to hearing of a child's abuse or murder at the hands of a paedophile, that stuff totally shocks and terrifies me..to think that any human could be so un-feeling.

I do cry for the innocent children who die every day,and I cried for Steve Irwin. He was a wonderful person. He was passionate in his work to save wildlife. He was funny, crazy, smart, and entertaining. And yes,he took risks,as do all people.People drink and drive,or they drive too fast. They take drugs. They have unsafe sex.A mother turns her head for a moment and her child is drowned,or struck by a car.People keep dangerous dogs and are mauled and killed.Did Christopher Reeve deserve to be paralysed and die just because he loved riding horses? No!Everyday that you are alive on this Earth, you are taking risks. You could be taking some laundry to put in the wash and trip.you could be EATING,and choke to death. No one deserves to die because they do the things they love, not you ,not me ,and not Steve Irwin. He wasn't a Superman;he wasn't infallible. He was HUMAN,and he will be terribly missed ,just as anyone who dies from any cause is missed ,and all of you who are putting him down, think of the sorrow his family and friends are feeling and about how you would feel if the tables were turned and it was YOUR loved one being put down.RIP Steve Irwin ,a great Wildlife Warrior and fellow human being.

Hmmm. Yours is a different thought and feeling from the crowd --who like to mourn the Crocodile Hunter for his good cause and his short life-span. As for the other causes mentioned in the last sentence of your comments that is a different ball game and yes, we should be concerned for those issues too. You are right there. But not in the same question. Hope it helps.

I can see your point.
Its similar to all the nonsense that happened after Princess Di went.
Yes, its sad when someone dies young. But he had a good life... he lived it how he wanted, had a bloody good time doing it and made a pile of money.
But i didnt know the man personally, so do not grieve over him. I have only ever griefed for real people i have known well in my life... and that is hard enough. Not something you really do in public as it is a private thing. Grieving and being upset for anyone else is just false.

Steve was a person that a lot of people respected and felt like they knew. We do grieve when people we know die. Children being murdered is a tragedy and we should be concerned. Why can't we grieve for the children and for adults that have touched our lives.

I haven't seen this much attention since Princess Diana died; I really liked his shows and feel sorry for his family's loss; If you'd seen the video clip of his daughter, Bindy, giving a speech about her dad, you might not be so cynical....Just because people banded together in grief, doesn't mean that they've forgotten about other important things as well...it's all relative...

Just yesterday they reported on CNN that the Austrailan officials had reviewed the tape and concluded that Steve Irwin did nothing wrong. They aren't sure why the sting ray shot the barb. My guess it that when Steve Irwin went over the top of him, another fish or animal passed in front of it and that is what made the animal feel 'trapped'
I think he was a great man and his message has only gotten more attention through his death.

Okay your entitled to your own opinon,
But make it factual!!
He did not threaten or attack the sting-ray he was SWIMMING OVER IT, ONE METRE ABOVE, he was in shallow waters and the stingray also had a camera lense shoved in its face by steves film crew.
Have some more respect.Yes PEOPLE DO CARE for innocent victims of rape!! of course they do.
Steve Irwin was a hero to many people and he did so much.
You need to grow a heart and get the facts right.
