i just recently got a dell inspiron e1505 or also known as 6400

its working pretty darn good

i got it for 885 not listing the specs cuz it will take too long

i ordered it online, and it took a while to get here and i was rather mad about that

and the representatives from dell dont speak english so it was very hard for me to talk to them

but overall toshiba and sony are the best err one of the top ones along with apple i believe

dell is pretty good, the battery is good and so is the inside but the design is ok

if u want a great design then HP is perfect. Not too sure about the inside though

but yea dell is fine if u want a cheap and good performance laptop.

So why dont u check out that website i gave to u

notebookreview.com

right now its listed as the second ranking laptop

woot!! that means i got the second best laptop

hope that helped

u may also go to pcmags.com or pcworld.com to search for reviews and such on the brand u want

To be honest, I dislike Dells - they charge too much for what they give, they are totally impossible to upgrade without getting Dell to do it or breaking some Warranty, and they shout "I am new to computers, look at me! I don't know what I'm doing!". If you want a better laptop for less money, check out eBay, there will be thousands for sale. Don't just think, "I need a laptop. Dell make laptops, therefore I must buy there laptops." Think more, "I will check out what is out there from many different manufacturers to see which is the best and cheapest."

You would get a better product if you purchased an IBM Thinkpad
I had a Dell desktop, and it was great;the laptop was another story. I love the Thinkpad.
Most of the companies (incl. Dell) also sell re-conditioned items from their websites

My Dell laptop worked for about 6 months before the hard drive crashed. I don't think I'd buy another laptop, but that's just my own personal opinion. They're too heavy to be truly portable.

I use to buy Dell for work, but won't any more.
The telephone support is in India and they read from scripts, email support takes 48 hours or more to come back. And almost every machine has developed some sort of fault.
Don't buy Dell.

if you must buy dell then buy direct, adverts are in most daily newspapers.don't settle for less than 512mb memory and a pentium m but it would be wiser to pay extra for the new intel core duo laptops. if i was looking to buy a new laptop the first brand i would look at is acer. the last place i would look is ebay.

I wouldnt recommend Dell. If you have one custom built from them, they have this knack of leaving bits out, but still charging you. You only find out when you come to upgrade.

Its happened to someone I know. Dell 'missed' the extra RAM section that he requested.

You won't find a place any cheaper than ebuyer.com they have an english site as well as an international one (I use them regularly for stuff).

I'd avoid Dell laptops as they seem to have a lot of problems with the batteries making them meltdown (catch fire) and have had to recall a great deal of them.
