probably just cartilage damage and/or soft tissue bruising. Knees are quite sturdy and rarely break, it may have just popped out and then popped back in again, resulting in the swelling. Go to A&E / casualty first NOT the doctors as they will be able to x-ray it just to be sure. Fingers crossed x x

There is absolutely no way for us to tell you if your leg is fractured. You need to go to the doctor or ER and get an XRAY to diagnose your injury. In the meantime, you should put ice on the lump and elevate it above your heart level (lay down with your leg propped up on pillows).

like the others said... YOU NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR!!!
something similiar to that happened to my arm once... it was only a sprain then but i still went to the doctors and had an x-ray done. you might not be as lucky as i was... it could be fractured or even broken. keep ice on it and get to the doctor ASAP! also: don't put too much weight on it if it hurts badly.
good luck and i hope you get better soon!!!

You need to have a xray. So many people leave it thinking that nothing serious have happened and then to find out that it's broken or some other complication. Go to the hospital or walking centre, or if you're lucky to be able to see your doctor go there.

Sweetpea, why didn't you go to hospital? I injured myself similarly skiing in February and my knee is still not fnctioniong properly. You really must get this seen as soon as possible. In the meantime apply icepacks and keep it elevated. Hope that it doen't turn out to be serious.

You probably need to go and have it x-rayed. It probably is just bruised and sprained. Be careful skating, maybe you should invest in some knee pads, elbow pads and a helmet. better luck next time.

If you can move it, it aint broke!
You should go to casualty/ A&E/ER though to get it looked at properly!
Did you get it on film? It sounds clumsy!
Hope you get better soon!
