what is the best mattifying powder you've ever used? i'm looking for something very sheer or colorless. i've heard good things about mac, smashbox anti-shine, and clinique, but i don't want to spend a lot of money trying all of them. thanks

Powder doesn't really work for me because I have really oily skin and even powder tends to get cakey. I use Dr. Feelgood by Benefit ($26 at Sephora) and it keeps my face pretty matte (with maybe 1 or 2 touchups throughout the day).

The most amazing anti-shine product is Skinn Orchid gel. It keeps my complexion shine free all day. They have a tinted Orchid gel as well. I don't even use powder or foundation anymore.

Cheap? Any powder that matches your skin.
It IS powder, so it may come off easily, reapply it every few hours.
