Not unless you both agree that it is. If one does and the other doesn't, you need to have a chat and figure out whether you are just friends or is there something more? I would suggest that if there is some confusion between you, you should talk it over before you loose a good friend and if someone else says it is a date (boyfriend, girlfriend of one of you?) then that is the person who needs to be communicated with. It takes a mature and confident person to handle their partner having a good friend of the opposite sex. Communication is the key!
