Why would a man have an affair and leave a ten year marriage and a son because all of a sudden he is not happy? He was fine until the other woman came along! He was at a stage in his life where he could stop working so hard and begin enjoying life. He has thrown everything away. Now he is about to move in with a woman ten years younger than him, rebuild his life and probably have more kids at 40! Why do men do crazy things like that! Are they really happier??

No, they're just confused and don't realize what they have till it's gone.
They lack communication skills and think by having an affair and falling in love with a younger woman that the sex will be better and there will be less stress. Some men are just selfish.
Then, when the woman they had an affair with starts being a wife and worrying about him and such, then he gets turned off and goes off and finds another woman to be with.
Men that cheat are like this because they lack communication skills and have no idea what reality is truly like. There will be problems in every relationship even if you're with a model.. they just don't get that concept.

Just reading your question has given me such a deep insight into your line of thinking and reasoning, so much so that I can tell ANY man would be tortured being with you in your present state!
"All of a sudden, he is not happy." I'd venture to say he had been unhappy with you for quite a while and had been looking for a way out for years. The younger woman was merely a catalyst, my dear.
Truthfully, I have a feeling your ex is going to be much happier without you. As well, you'll probably be happier without him.
So, where do we go from here? The next time you're with a man, respect him, don't nag him, and try to make his life PLEASANT and not a living hell. The least you can do is LEARN from past mistakes.

Well if he was fine until this how could she have torned you two apart? Not trying to be cruel, but you and he must have been having some type of problems or he hid it very well. Granted some men do these things when still in love or happy, but very few. Something in his life had to be wrong and it didn't have to be with you it could have been with his self. When we appoach 40 we figure this is the time we will go over the hill, so maybe this woman came at a time when his thinking was wrong about life in general. If you love him and willing to wait it out a while he might come back. If that is something you don't feel would be good then talk with him and let him know how close he is to losing you and then back off. Give him time to think about all of this.

People do things for different reasons...Instead of recognising the problem in a relationship then trying to fix it, men and women will choose the easy way out....Hense extramarital affairs..The key to a successful relationship is communication..I know this first hand because I went through it....Once it breaks down and ignred, the relationship swirals downward and everyone gets hurt....Usually one partner sees it, tells the other and they deny it..Think about how the past few years were before he found someone else and you will understand where the problem was......Just don't dwell on it, it will consume your life....I hope you find the happiness you deserve....Good luck

All you can do is accept it and move on.Men just don't do it women too.I know a woman who left her famaly for someone who got out if prison and they were together for 18 years.they had 3 kids together.I thought the same thing " why would she do that"?
