yes it is true that others besides Jews were killed during world war 2, but to say that it is an exaggeration is ridiculous. my grandfather served in Europe during ww2 and was part of the rescue of the survivors of Dachau. he said you could smell the odor of burning human flesh miles away. he saw women and children, as well as men, starved within an inch of their lives. starved to the degree that a normal meal would kill them. he is neither an exaggerator nor a liar. Hitler was not the only genocidal maniac, just the most infamous.

I suggest you learn something about the rise of the Nazis. It was done on the backs of the Jews. There was a systematic looting of Jewish wealth, elimination of Jewish influence, criminalization of Jewish employment, criminalization of sexuality between Jews and non-Jews, destruction of Jewish temples - all on one terrible night, incessant scapegoating of the Jews for the problems of Germany. To learn about the 30s in Germany is to have your blood run cold and would show you what is unique amongst WWII killings about the Holocaust. Death camps are a rare thing, my man, and they sear the conscience like nothing else.

It is good to learn that WWII had many horrific deaths and much suffering. But nothing takes away from the nightmare of Hitler's final solution.

As to your assertion that no one cares about all the killings in the world today, your own question makes that assertion demonstrably false.

The Holocaust is of special interest again today because Iran's President denies the Holocaust and how can he move his region forward if he won't be honest about what brought Isreal to their midst?
The tactics of the Nazis should be of interest to every alert American in these days of Karl Rove.

because jews were the primary target. not only that - jews were misled into the camps, whereas the others were put there due to being prisioners - they knew they were going. do you realize that many of the jews were already out of poland and other Eu area and came back of their own accord because of lies and misinformation? they were told it was a new life a place where all jews could live in harmony. that's the difference IMO.
people do care about what's going on in other countries. unfortunately, the US a a country can only do so much. it seems when they do step in or are brought in by the other governments - people scream that they are doing too much or not doing enough.

It's very important in history because a dictator tried to kill an entire ethnic group. That's pretty major. They were forced into prison camps, starved, and tortured. That's not a war. You really need to read a lot more about it before you make assumptions like that.

While you're studying the war read about the internment of the Japanese. That's another important part in history.

The same thing is starting to happen again with the Muslims. It's horrific. No one should be treated that way.

Try and keep in mind that the Jews were the only ethnic group that was singled out to be eradicated from the earth. They were singled out as a race to be totally annihilated. Ture, other millions were killed including upwards of twenty million Russians, but the Jews were to be exterminated simply because they were Jews.
Read a little and enlighten yourself.

I don't get it. If you "give a sh*t" about the people getting killed, then the Jewish massacre is a damned good example of what you're fighting against. It's fine if you want to dramatize how much death really occurred, but why would you do it by trying to minimize one aspect of the horror? Is this about the Jews grabbing the spotlight? F*ck the spotlight! The fight is against genocide, not who gets more air time.

Because of the mistaken idea that Israel is still God's People. God's People, or the Israel stated in the last days are really Christians, who fell away from the teachings of Christ, but some, not all, of whom have now returned to it.
