I think so. The horror is very abstracted so it's accessible to almost anyone. The music is very sophisticated, I can't think of a better show to bring a kid!

no..i wouldn't take an 8 year old to a theatre because their attention span isn't long enough, and this can be disruptive to the actors

Of course! Personally, I would have them watch Into the Woods, first. Break them in slowly.
