You will be spending your money more wisely if you purchase a new laptop. When I broke the screen on my laptop, they told me it would cost $600 to replace it. You can get a new laptop for that.

if its out of waranty then it old, try secondhand laptops on ebay or adtrader, might be just as cheap as a new screan
