Women with prams are in so much of a hurry and under stress it seems, they do it to me too! They believe that you should make way for them regardless of who you are because of their precious cargo.
Men in suits with mobile-to-ear just simply aren't concentrating, they can't do more than 2 things at once (walk & talk).
Old grannies with those trollies are the worst though!

People are so preoccupied with what they are doing that they have no consideration for others at all.
With regards to the pram pushers - I am a pushchair pusher and regularly when I venture to town, I have noticed the inconsideration some prampushers have on the pavement. I have always been very considerate, moving my pushchair out of the way for people coming towards me, even when it is easier for them to move.
I too have been the victim of these people. Once standing looking in a shop window, minus pushchair that day, as close to the window as I could get, one woman rammed her pram into me, then yelled at me saying I was in the way and to let her past despite the fact she had about 4 foot of pavement around me to walk past!
I have greatest sympathy for you as people these days are ignorant and rude and always in such a hurry to get anywhere regardless, but there are some of us out there that are considerate - Me!!!

Don'tworry, its not just you, they do it with everyone. I have also found this a problem with grannys on scooters. Its because they think they are so important it is up to YOU to move out of their way. they think are the only person in the world to have given birth, have an important business meeting or to have 'been in the war'.
Next time it happens, whack them in the legs with your cane and make the excuse you didnt see them.

In both cases I would suggest that the person is not concentrating on where they are going. The woman on the child in the chair and the man on his conversation on the phone

Perhaps they are partially sighted too.
Perhaps it's hard for a woman to push the pram around you.
If you can see a woman pushing a pram, wouldn't you get out her way? That's what being a gentleman is all about, partial sight or not!
