I agree, Christmas "starts" far to early now. Commercial enterprises used to make enough money out of Christmas but then to business when is enough enough? Never!! Here in Ireland the traditional start to Christmas was Dec 8th., sadly that ended some years ago. Shops have Christmas stock out now before Halloween has passed.

I work in a supermarket pharmacy and while we dont have xmas songs yet, we have advent calenders, tinsel, xmas biscuits and chocolates, cards and wrapping paper.
Dont laugh, but ive actually nearly finished my xmas shopping. How sad am I? I just hate going into town with all the crowds, i do most of it online through the year.

Three years ago I went out on the 23rd December to buy Christmas tree chocolates. Woolworths had sold out, but did have dinosaur mini-eggs for sale: thuis I had Easter eggs on my Christmas tree. All a bit Ying/Yang life, and death colliding if you ask me.

I totally agree with you. Let the holidays come in succession. For the love of Pete. It is not even Halloween yet. It is coming earlier every stinking year. The thing is the public has no way to complain or fix it.

Try working in a department store and having to listen to such joyous jingles, such as "It's the most wonderfull time of the year" for what turned out to be 6 months!!! If it only it were true... Merry Christmas.

I don't like it either. What happened to Halloween and Thanksgiving? It is wrong and it always bugged me. I don't want to walk in and see Santa when looking for Halloween decorations. Christmas has become overrated in such a materialistic way.
