I've had it, it lasted a couple of days for me. Mine came from overuse (shin splint?), lots of step classes. Rest and increasing circulation to the area helped.

Pelvic inflammatory disease (or disorder) (PID) is a generic term for infection of the female uterus, fallopian tubes, and/or ovaries as it progresses to scar formation with adhesions to nearby tissues and organs. This may lead to tissue necrosis with/or without abscess formation. Pus can be released into the peritoneum. ⅔ of patients with laparoscopic evidence of previous PID were not aware they had had PID (Cecil's 5th ed). PID is often associated with sexually transmitted diseases, as it is a common result of such infections. PID is a vague term and can refer to viral, fungal, parasitic, though most often bacterial infections. PID should be classified by affected organs, the stage of the infection, and the organism(s) causing it. Although a sexually transmitted infection is often the cause, other routes are possible, including lymphatic, postpartum, postabortal (either miscarriage or abortion) or IUD related, and hematogenous spread.

my grandmother has peripheral nerve disease. its when your limbs (arms, legs) feel really numb or u have a tingly sensation going through one or all of them. I'm not saying thats what you have but it sounds like it from talking to her. to get it tested they would stick these things on ur fingers and it sends a shock through your nerves (it hurts really bad!) so i'd go get checked out and would make that test my last resort!

go to the doctors. Have you travelled long distance recently because the pain could be caused by DVT (deep vein thrombosis)? don't panic but it is best to see your GP at the your earliest opportunity.

Perhaps a Staff infection or a blood clott? You should have it checked out as it could be something serious.

Check with your Dr. I won't joke about your question. You're on your feet a lot; could it be your shoes?
