The thigh bone (the femur) is the longest bone in the human body, equal to about 1/4th of your height. This was on a recent rerun of CSI.
(I like to go to kids sites for simple answers like this, for the non-scientific persons answer.)

The longest is the femur, also the heaviest single bone. Incidentally, it's where a fair majority of your red blood cell production occurs.

longest bone is the femur, it connects the knee (patella) to the tibia and fibia, (lower leg bones) to the hip. not only is is the longest but its the hardest to break...
i know, i broke mine on a motorbike...
