Oh my gosh , what a sad way to generalize. I must say that I am not flaky at all and I have always been the so called artsy type. Since virtually anything can include, and anybody can and should create art then either we are all flaky or maybe we are all well grounded in our own way. The real challenge is to make everything you do a facet of art, its more a way of life. I know people in the medical field who are wonderful artists and you can't be flaky at all. HELLO....Thinking outside the box is not flaky, its creative. Try not to make sweeping generalizations about what it takes to be artistic , its everyones domain. Yours too!

Yes and no. I think there's a lot of people who are artsy types because they are so flaky. I'm an art student, and I don't think I'm a flake... It's like the chicken and the egg, I guess. Does art make you flaky, or do flaky people make art?

I've met just as many flaky artists as I have flaky people in the general population. I don't think your talents and your hobbies really have much to do with how flaky you are-- I think it relates more to how you were brought up and if you were taught to follow through on things.

I agree that Art attracts flakes; it doesn't require much management, organization or bosses - generally speaking,
so it makes for a great "space cadet" haven.
I have a BFA, MA, 2 teaching certificates & 26 years working
in and teaching the Arts... I'm only occassionally flakey, but
mostly not. It helps when you are stuck for artistic ideas, heh.
