i completely agree with you. Words shouldn't be so important. If one is angry, yell your favorite swear, get your emotoins out! People can't be affected by words so much that you prohibit them. I mean, they were made for a reason and obviously accepted, right? However, if these words are generally accepted, they'r enot nearly as fun to say. :]

Since when does no one get hurt by them? People are offended by swear words because it is the nature of swear words to be offensive. And it does not do any good to offend people, or to use those words. We'd be better of if they weren't in any language to begin with.

Personally, I do not have a problem with them, per se. I rarely use them, myself, however, because I think that people who use them every other word sound ignorant.
Plus, some people are offended by them, so rather than becoming accustom to using them frequently, and then having to temper my language around particular people (risking a slip-up), I just do not use them often.
I have found that not only are there many other ways to express oneself, but that on the occasion that I do spout out a "four lettered word", people know I am extremely upset, and take me very seriously.

Which words are you asking about? In what context? You must be more specific with your question. In regards to the English language you may use it as long as it is appropriate to the situation for example: A breeder talking about his female dog could say "The ***** won't breed." and not get in trouble for this as he was talking of his dog. Another example : Preacher speaking And hell's wrath will be upon you." again totally appropriate. It just depends upon the situation you are in. If you are just going to use the words to insult people then no slang words are not appropriate. And that's the way I see it.

they're words, i use them all the time - i try to be respectful around elderly or kids, but if hear em saying it i'd be like f*ck yea man! LOL, nah it's good to be respectful around certain people, but all swear words should be in the dictionary (most are but...)and just because some people swear alot doesn't make them ignorant, its just the way they chose to speak...

Does ANYTHING else think swear words are stupid? I'm not sure -- let me go ask my dog, one of my backyard squirrels, and a couple of the fir trees on my place, then I'll get back to you on this.

swear words are used by people who do not have the vocabulary to otherwise give an intelligent answer or to ask question without using them. in other words, they are used by stupid people.
