Black Snow
The sun retreats to its cave
Once again, chaos reigns.
The daemons play havoc on my dear sanity
The ebony flakes land on my skin
Burning with a dying flame.
I hear the call of Hell once more
Beckoning my reluctant destiny
I must enjoy what I have on this Earth
For I shall inhale the ashes once again.
Day has fallen, another night come
The black chariots galloping near
The phantom reality of my tangible dreams
The snowflakes have fallen.
Can you feel the shards burrowing into my skin?
Rooting deeper and deeper
Burning, scorching, feeding,
Consuming my fuel
Laughing my tears to the surface
As I stoke the fire
It’s just a bad dream, I think to myself
I’ll never come back here again
I awaken and know, I pretend to ignore
I’ve only just found a retreat from real life
The snowflakes are watery, gentle, and cold
I can hide out here for a lifetime or so
Then it’s back, back to real life
Where the only love is fire
Down in the black flurries.
