Can we win the war on terroism under any President?
I know i may get thumbs down. But if you stepped back and stopped hating George Bush you would find he isn't running the country like a modern day " Adolf Hitler" .
Your elections are coming up soon, If you don't like him , don't vote for him,

"The War on Terror" has a lot to do with America's world role.We are hated like the British before us.We have an empire,if we don't then explain all those military bases everywhere. There are real reasons for the hatred of the world's poor, the Iraqis,The South American people. We always need an excuse to continue building bases and arms.Poor America,it has been scared of the Soviet's who did not initiate the cold war or the Communists elected abroad, now it's what ?Oh those pesky terrorists, terrorist states. Can't you see a pattern here? You should read to know what America has been about, you will not learn about it in high school.Read Chomsky on third war terror,McChesney on American media,Gore Vidal's books, or you might try Atimes.com,full of good reading.Americans don't know our own history. Back to your question,'can we win' this is a slogan from a pr. company working for Bush.War against terrorism makes about as much sense as "war on drugs" or "war on crime".These are political slogans and are so meaningless. They want to make you scared,so you cannot think. It is impossible to fight a battle against terror, terror is inside the duped.Remember to the British, Gw,not Bush,George Washington was a terrorist. To many people of the world,we are terrorists because we kill Iraqi civilians and caused a civil war.Do you realize how many iraqis have died in the war on terror.

"The War on Terror" is a railing cry not a literal action. We are really at war with several loosely allied Non Governmental Organizations that are terrorist groups. The Central Group is Al Queada which receives support from several radical Islamic governments and religious charities that divert funds, for the relief of Muslims in trouble around the world, to the terrorists groups. Terror is not a thing it is a "political" tactic that is used by small groups of people who can not otherwise get their way to force the majority to do what the smaller group wants. The terrorists uses the civilized man's ethics against him. The terrorist has no ethics and relies on the fact that the civilized man will not just exterminate the entire terrorist group including extended family and all who claim to support the terrorist.

The war on Terror is like breathing...to stop the war is to become a victim of it...there is no winning it, just survival...
There will always be evil in the world, and where ever there are people that will not hesitate to take your life to "prove" some religious point, there will be terrorism, and the need to fight it.

First, there is no such thing as a "war" on terror. That's just politicians' BS. Wars are fought between nations.
Second, the Republican party desperately needs terrorists to frighten people into voting their way. The boogieman of communism is pretty much dead, and extremely inconvenient, since the vast majority of communists, and of poeple living under the yoke of communism, are in China.
So, President Bush, and all those associated with him, cannot and will not do anything to eliminate terrorism.

Bush himself that we have to fight the war on terrorism like we fought the Cold War. That means we have long periods of detent followed by intense flare ups all over the worlds. It's means we stay in the fight until the other side loses by default, as Russia and the Soviet Union did.
The trouble is that we could end up being Russia if we keep building the trade deficit and importing oil. It doesn't matter who the President is.
I am no Bush lover, but once the eggs are cracked,to quote a news story, you have to make the omelet or they spoil. We can't leave Iraq or Afghanistan as things are without making it worse.

I don't know that the war on terror can actually be won, regardless of the president. There will always be some new group or person who judges people based on their culture and/or beliefs. So even if the Iraq mess is cleaned up and we find bin Laden, I don't really think that it is something that can ever be "won". I think it is something we will have to fight in an ongoing fashion.

It is impossible to win a war on a concept, no matter what leadership you have. The war on drugs and the war on terror are both hopeless, and for the same reasons. You can not end such problems without handling the underlying causes, wich neither campaign is equipped to try.

No. This is a very complicated problem that the republicans caused. The Bush Administration will have to draft people to control Iraq. We have enough to take over the country, but not enough to control it. He will have to leave or start a draft and kill more young men and women.
There are many countries that need our help. Why did the republicans pick Iraq?

Only if we fight until the end of the world. Bush should have weighed his options more carefully and remembered Vietnam.
Terrorism is not going to go away......children are being born as we speak who will grow up to be terrorists.
We fight terror by using our brains and not bullets....you don't stop terrorism by using violence.
