I'm gay and I use that word like that all the time. Who cares? Words are words, the only thing that makes them ugly is the people behind them.

Yes in that it associates my sexuality with something dumb and language does have an affect on attitude.
No because I think a lot of the kids using it don't really make a connection to homosexuality. It's just a new trend word, which hopefully also means that actually being gay is not seen as such a big deal.
So, depends who's saying in what context, but for the most part, no it doesn't. Also, well, when I was a kid, calling something gay was usually calling something sick. Dumb is up the ladder rungs a bit from that one don'tcha think.

im sorry i always thought they were saying 'ghey' not gay. You know like blue and blew. 2 different spellings, 2 different meanings! Dont let it get to u though, words meanings change! Back in the day gay meant happy!
But sorrry if it offends you. I know gay people who say 'ghey' too!

I am a gay man and I frequently used "gay" to mean stupid or lame...Someone made a point of correcting me and I dont use it anymore but it doesnt bother me.

Im not gay, and I think is annoying. But dont worry most of the people who say it are kids they will grow out of it. Just like paris hilton's "thats hot"

Yea the dumb LESBO (opps, I mean Lesbian) in my office, who can not spell for #$%$#.
Everything is "GAY" or "QUEER" to her. She once said I was such a "F##" and I through some papers at her (batch)
And yes she thinks she is in the closet but everyone knows she is a lesbian, I mean when the boss says she is so uptight she needs to get it you know he knows (she can not hold onto a girlfriend at all)

Gay is another word for Lame or stupid. "That movie was totally gay!". I am straight and I use it, I also use "gyp'ed" when I have or someone I know has been ripped off or over charged. "Gyp'ed" is short for Gypsie, a nomadic European ethnicity. If people don't like it, well, I guess that is totally gay.

wel first i take offence to you adressing this only to gay ppl. im stright and i also take offense wen someone says "your gay" "thats gay" making it mean stupid. i hate wen ppl do that and ill usually correct ppl.
