Otherworld (TV series)

Although only 8 episodes ever aired before the network cancelled the series, rumor has it that 13 episodes were taped. Whether these 5 lost episodes still exist remains a mystery.

The Sterling family, on holiday in Egypt, find themselves stranded at the heart of the Great Pyramid by an unscrupulous guide during a once in ten-thousand year alignment of six of the planets. Without warning they find themselves transported to another world, and find themselves in the sea. After swimming ashre they move inland and soon encounter Kommander Nuveen Kroll for the first time. After failing to provide him with identification papers they manage to accidentally shoot him with his own weapon and steal his access crystal and Zone Cruiser. Making their way to the city of Starlight they soon find themselves in trouble once more. Trace manages to fall for Nova - the first girl he's seen in nearly twenty-four hours - in a classic tale of 'boy meets girl, girl turns out to be an android.'

* Father Hal Sterling - Sam Groom
* Mother June Sterling - Gretchen Corbett
* Teen son Trace Sterling - Tony O'Dell
* Teen daughter Gina Sterling - Jonna Lee
* Youngest child Smith Sterling was played by two different actors, Brandon Crane and Chris Hebert. Crane played Smith in the pilot, which was aired as the first and fifth episodes.
* Nuveen Kroll - Jonathan Banks

If it had an African-American, a professor, a female, and Quinn Mallory, you're thinking "Sliders." They weren't related though.

It went through a couple of changes. It had Jerry O'Connell. Then they changed the female. John Rhys-Davies was really cool, but then his character got killed off. I think John Rhys-Davies just wanted to move on to other stuff.

Then the Sci-Fi Channel picked it. I lost track of the story line after that. They made up some reason as to how Jerry O'Connell's character got rotated out and the younger brother took the place.

I stopped watching after that. The concept was really cool though. I just wonder if they ran out of ideas for alternate worlds.
