Get ANY cardboard and make your own, honestly it's easy using tape and imagination, common sense.Start with a big piece of board, wrap you item in bubble or whatever, lay it on the board and start folding and bending other pieces of cardboard until the 'thing' is in a postable 'box'.Shape is unimportant.

This tip may be useful. get a big box and carefully take it apart and then reconstruct it inside out! Ask around if anyone has a large cardboard box. It doesn't matter what was in it - it will be plain on the inside. it may need at little reinforcement on the inside and of course packing. Bubble wrap - polystyrene or newspaper. I save cardboard boxes! I shall auction something on Ebay one day. I have some oil paintings...

Perhaps you could wrap the guitar in thick bubble wrap and then wrap the whole thing up in corrugated cardboard or cardboard used to wrap a fridge or other large item and cover it with brown paper. In other words make your own box by using other bits of cardboard.

I agree with Little Weed... I often have to make a larger box by using other boxes...when selling on ebay.

You could also try places like.. Homebase, Currys, B&Q etc.. Guaranteed to have a large boxes

Try craigslist.com. Under free stuff, you'll find just about anything you need and even some stuff you don't . Pick the state where you live and the largest city near you and just look around. You should be all right. Good luck.

What is the probldem with paying for your boxes? Just factor this amount into your postage fee...

However, for free, you cannot do better than your local supermarket or fruit & veg shop (their boxes are usually stronger)

Sometimes removal companies offer a free box service to customers of theirs so if you ask nicely....
Failing that your local shop or supermarket may oblige!

Try your local supermarket, they should have stacks of old boxes. Ask the manager if they have any for you to take off their hands.

Ask at your local supermarket. They may not have one in that size, so maybe you could ask at a local music store?
