I wasn't aware that republicans had opposable thumbs to give a "thumbs down". Didn't we get those through evolution?

Not a Republican but I am a conservative.

I only give a thumbs down if the answer doesnt pertain to the question or if its utterly stupid.

Giving an answer of opposition to my opinions is entirely fair and welcomed so I dont generally rate that negatively.

The same thing as for giving a thumbs down for a question. My guess would that it is a really stupid, inane, not well thought out, slanderous, childish, or just ignorant. More likely all of the above. Or it could be that they just disagree with the answer.
