No man "allows" me to do anything. I have the right to vote because of free speech and because of the suffragettes who gave their lives for my freedom to vote.
I work full time, own my own house and pay my taxes.... thats what earns me the right to vote.
I cant think of any politians with a nice bum.
Most blokes i know dont know much about politics.

Those who don't know about politics, whether men or women, tend not to take the time to vote anyway so the question is moot. Those who are not as well informed still have a right to an opinion in a democracy. Once you begin alienating a portion of the population based on how you perceive their level of knowledge or understanding to be, you promote prejudice and inequality. Such was the case in the American south when they tried to restrict voting for blacks based on reading ability.
The reason we (in the U.S.) have a republic made up of a senate and house of representatives instead of a pure democracy is because a republic tends to makeup for those in the public who may not be as well informed and who vote on a whim. It's not perfect, but it works.

I never voted for a politician because of his looks, and most of them are way too old for me, so it's hard to judge their looks. And with men being the more visual types, if there were as many women politicians as men, much more men voters would vote based on looks than women voters.
The argument I hear being brought up against Hillary is that she is ugly. Frankly, if that's really the only thing people have against her, she must be the best politician in the world.

Crispy! I answered one of your questions a few days ago...but I think it must have been pulled off...so I have encountered your sense of humour. I'll simply say: Foreign Secretary (female); Secretary of State for Health (female); last Prime Minister to serve as long as Blair has - female.
Would that there were a few male MPs who had cute bums, but who are the so-called pin up boys in Parliament? David Lammy, David Cameron, Ed Miliband....no can't think of a single one that's cute! But watch what you say Crispy, if Hazel Blears hears you - the little Manchester terrier - she might come biting at your heels!
Women decide the results of General Elections, and I think there a lot of them take it seriously. Having said that, I've had my blonde moments in the past when it comes to one of my other passions....football. But then, its really just been happy coincidence that my favourite player in our squad has also been the cutest....and it makes a poor season so much more exciting!

I don't know whether you are in the U.S or Britain here in Britain it's not just the women who don't understand politics! It's not a question of gender it's more a question of the parties being to boring to explain there policies (Which don't exist anyway). Therefore both women AND MEN go on what there peers are voting for or what is suggested in the gutter press or what is happening more increasingly due to the 'lack of respect' the government give to them once in power they Don't bother to vote at all.....One thing that is for sure though is....it is NOT a gender thing

Your question makes me wonder where your from. I'm from the city, ans the women I know are a lot more politically active than the men I know. And you must know some really idiotic women if they vote for the cutest guy.
Try talking to some women that actually graduated from high school, you idiot.

Why not just let the editors of the newspapers do our voting for us, then they wouldn`t have to to foist on us all the ideas that they have been told by the politicians to shove down our throats every day when all we want to know is how Tottenham got on, what is on TV and the coming weekend`s weather prospects.
No queues at the polling stations, no effort, no thinking, better for the environment, no cars choking up the road to the Village Hall and they could proxy vote for us according to their circulation figures.
Problem solved I think, for the good of all !

Many people in this country, male AND female alike, only follow what they are told to think like the good little mindless lemmings they are and put zero actual research and thought into what they are voting on and why they vote that way. And those of us that choose to look into the issues more deeply and protest even the slightest bit about something that doesn't quite small right are dubbed "radicals".....

Being a housewife and mother of two, i must agree with you. I know nothing about politics and so should not be allowed to vote. My job is in the home cooking and cleaning for the man of the house. I was going to go to college but my man rightly put me in my place so i didn't go. And the only time we should ever see woman in the house of commons is when they are fetching tea and cakes for them hard working gents.

A lot of people don't really know a lot about politics and they still vote. The question you should be asking is not if women should be able to vote, but rather ignorant people (male or female).
