I have a sponsor child in africa and the little things like a photo or letter is considered a luxury item even things like sport equippment and i guess a fresh water supply would be considered a luxury

Some people in Africa have the most beautiful houses.
In the poorer parts of Africa, they consider water a luxurious item, It is hard to answer your question without knowing which part of Africa you are reffering too.
