So was it like this when you moved in? I dont understand how they could be in there unless the previous tenants had them or you had pets and got rid of them. They have a spray that some vets sell for about $40 that you spray all around the baseboards and whereever and it gets rid of them and keeps them away. Call a local vet and see if they can offer any tips. Also you can bomb your house with stuff from Wal-Mart.

unless there was something wrong with them, i dont think you will have a prob. being bitten by a flea other than that annoying itch!,
i was at my friends house and he has a bad flea problem and ive been bit all over, trust me its just annoying, ive dealt with them my whole life seeing that we have had pets all our lives.
if you had a pet i would tell you to use the oil of lavendar, it works wonders on them and causes no harm to the pet, but i dont know if you can find a big enough bottle to use it in your home, it has a semi-nice smell.
hope this helps a bit, sorry i couldnt say more.

It sounds like sand fleas. There is a multitude of chemicals to use. However, If you don't mind the smell of Eucalyptes and Penny Royal. There is a natural oil that deters them. You sprinkle it every few months.
Also Loews and Home Depot have a spray called Bug Stop made by Spectracide, it works for MANY bugs.www.spectracide.com

buy an over the counter flea foam or powder and put on whatever you suspect has the infestation. Vacuum afterward and everyday. If you have a steam vac that would be great to use first.
Mop all floors daily and vacuum.
