ok so they say that the person that is going to love you, will love u no matter how u are. they take u "as is". now lets say they're not too fond of certain things, what should be done? i ask this bc, i've also know that "love is sacrifice", and that if u truly love someone u'll do whatever necessary (within reason) to please this person. just something that was going through my head, so i figured i'd see what everyone else thinks.

You draw the line and sacrificing who you truly are as a person.

Yes someone should love you for who you are, good stuff and bad. But you cannot change who you are fundamentally just b/c someone doesnt like you. For example, if you have certain bad habits and it is annoying to someone you are dating, you should try to change that. (biting your nails in their presence, picking your nose.......you get the drift)

But if that person doesnt like the sound of your voice, or the color of your hair or the fact that you like children and they do not, those are things that you cant really change b/c you are "hardwired" for those things.

Think about it, if you change who you are for someone will you really recognize yourself after while?

but you don't change yourself for a person cuz then that's not real love. So, my opinion of love is wen you like everything about that one person, it seems you'll always be with him & it'll last. You just feel a connection that won't ever lose service. (yea i know stupid comparison.)

Maybe change some things for the better, but still be yourself.

i think it depends. if your significant other wants you to change something thats threatening your life then if you loved them, youd do it. for example, if someone you love is an alchoholic and you see the damage its doing to them and your family, they should change their drinking ways.
