there is no "perfect" anything, especially in the arts/entertainment world. That said, so long as you are attempting to harmonize with the melody,notes, and rhythm of your guitar playing, then stick with that goal. If you still feel you"re not "perfect", seek out a voice coach. This advice was given to me by a seasoned singer, composer, guitar player, and it worked.

I guess that all depends if a gitar existed and if you sounded like a jack russel terrier on an acid trip.

Nope. A lot of bands' lead singers absolutely suck, but the guitar part sounds great, and so the music sounds good.
