I'm 37 weeks pregnant and when I have a braxton hicks contraction my left hip's muscle squeezes so tight my nerve hurts and the pain shoots down my leg? It's so bad I have to sit down and sometimes tears stream down my face. Have you ever had this or heard of it. I've already told the doctor. I just want to know if any other pregnant or former pregnant mom has ever experienced this.

I had sciatic nerve pain with both my pregnancyes. it was horrible and debilitating. I had it from the end of the 1st trimester right to the end. At least you're almost done! The best thing you can do is drink lots of water and lay on your opposite side to alleviate it--although sometimes it doesn't work. Sorry I didn't hav better suggestions for you--sciatic nerve pain just SUCKS.

Call your care provider or head to the hospital...those sound more like labour contractions then braxton hicks contractions...it's better to be safe then sorry when it comes to your baby...My midwife always told me to call her if I had a contraction for "5-1-1" contractions that are every 5 minutes lasts a minute or long and go on for an hour...Please head to labour and delivery right away and get checked

I am 24 weeks pregnant and I have constant sciatic nerve pain. It is horrible, I completely understand how you feel! Just hang in there, it is almost over and it will all be worth it! Congrats and good luck!

Yes I have I had them All the time it had got so bad until the doctor gave me some medicine for it then you have to think your pelvis is also opening up that pressure will make feel alot of pain just pray you do not have much longer to wait before you have you little sweetie in your hands we as women go through alot of things Oh yeah heating pads work try that

Yep, it happened to me ALL THE TIME at about that stage. I remember one time I got one while walking down a flight of stairs at the mall, and the pain was so severe I fell down (fortunately I was only a few steps from the bottom.) It's another one of the wonderful parts of pregnancy that you don't know about from the books. Good luck!!!

Yes! i remember that pain all to well! there is nothing you can really do about it either, just look at this way youre almost done, hang in there, i know it sucks!oh and Congrats!

Oh my, yes I did..both times. My doctor told me to drink a small glass of wine to make the contractions stop. It helped a ton. I feel for you.
