I am scared but don't want to operate...any suggestions would help. It makes me exhausted too...I am not easily slowed down but this is doing it. Thank you

You have seriously injured your left knee. I would advise you to see and Orthopedic Surgeon right away. Your knee is swollen and painful two weeks after the injury. You are taking a serious risk by not seeking professional help. You may not need surgery and if you do find out that surgery is necessary; be sure to get another opinion just to confirm what the original physician has recommended. It is foolish for you to continue to just wait it out. Your knee could be permanently damaged and arthritis could be a result, which I can assure you will give you more pain and discomfort than surgery to repair a torn meniscus or anterior cruciate ligament. Please take my advice and seek help for your knee.

If you don't gpo to the doctor you could be in alot of trouble, If fluid and blood is pooling together and not taken care of you could get a serious infection like staph, MRSA, gangreen, or the worst possible loose the the. Chances are they would do a scope firts before anything else and that is 3 very small hole in a cicirle around the knee. Take my word for it I injuryed my knee 10 years ago and figured I would be fine but now 7 surgerys later I am pretty much screwed because ofthe damage I did before i finally went in. The last big one they had to break my leg and noe I have 1 plate 2 robs and 6 screws in my knee. If you hurt your knee get to the docotors because in the long run you will be better off.

I understand not wanting surgery, however nothing you're going to find online that will beat an actual doctor's examination. If you do in fact have a torne meniscus, then it may progress to chronic pain and development of arthritis in the knee. Even worse, if you tore your ACL, without surgery you are going to have chronic instability of the knee joint. At least see a doctor and find out exactly the extent of damage.

Having surgery is not a bad thing. Look at it this way. 1.Don't have the surgery (if you need it) and continue to deal with the pains. Also take the chance of not being able to walk or stand in the future. or 2. Go have the surgery (if you need it) and be able to do more than you would be doing if you don't get it. So go see what's wrong with it or continue to be scared.

A knee brace for one thing. You can get more info by the search of acl injury (search the web) and there is a guide for you to use, in order to make up your mind what you'd like to do with or without surgery.

You may try alternating between heat and ice and get a knee brace. But in the long run your better off going to the Doctor.

if you don't see a doctor about this NOW you'll end up with bad knees for life. the injured one will stay bad, and the good one will take over much of its work and thus end up arthritic. if you think it's slowing you down now, you don't want to know what it's gonna be like a couple of years down the road. yes, they might have to cut you open, but that's not half as bad asas what's ahead of you if you don't get treatment.

Go to an orthopedic doctor and let them run an MRI on it to see exactly what is wrong. Trust me, I have had two knee surgeries and compared to the pain before hand, they are nothing. You won't regret going to the doctor and if he says surgery, you won't regret that either. I have had to ACL surgeries, so I understand.

You are going to have to face the doc even though you don't want too. You may have some serious injuries in there. If not cared for then it could become infected.
