Indeed? It looks like it confirms what everyone seems to be saying: They need Raven. The report of whispers of "Where's Raven?" throughout the first concert in Seattle (9/15/06) pretty much tell the whole story. The name of the group and what they represent (which is far from the female groups you see out here today) sell tickets; but how long can they sustain it without the group's lead singer and performer, Raven?
Consider this: The three touring members recorded a Christmas album in 2005. It sold only 131,000 copies. With Raven in the group, the soundtrack to the first movie went double-platinum, and the soundtrack to the second movie is almost gold.
But Raven hasn't had an easy time as a solo artist, either. Her first album in 1993 sold only 35,000. Her second sold 100,000, and her third, on the heels of 'Princess Diaries 2', sold only 250,000.
Raven and the 3 touring Cheetahs have separate albums hitting stores soon. Raven's latest, 'From Then Until...' comes on Halloween. The 3 touring Cheetahs have theirs in stores in May, June or July 2007. It remains to be seen if Raven will join them in the studio for that album, especially if her 4th album flops before Christmas. But if she doesn't, and they all flop, they'll have to reconcile their differences and reunite for a serious non-soundtrack group effort.
