Latest version of iTunes. Importing songs off CDs at 0.1x?? 25 minutes to import a 3 minute song? What's going on?

If that doesn't work.
Restart the computer.
You could have too much memory used on your computer. Not enough space left to run programs.

Are you playing the music from the CD as you import? That can slow down importing. Is it Mac or PC? With Mac, pull up the Preferences for iTunes, and check your import speed. That might also be a problem.

choose greater information approximately your laptop... yet once I had to advise some thing... in case you went from ME to XP, it ability your laptop is incredibly old. XP by using nature demands greater supplies than ME; i could evaluate merely getting a clean laptop. otherwise, determine you have a million-2GB of RAM; thats the quantity that XP works suitable with. Run spyware checks regularly, (Adaware is super for this). Defrag as quickly as a month... like I mentioned however, id advise a clean laptop
