One said that because ortho tri has different types of pills the regular "skip the placebo" wont work. I also read that u can start the pill in the middle of the month not neccesarily after your period. is that correct. I want to make sure i don't have my peior can someone please please help me. I already talked to me doctor but she made it seem so easy and just said to skip the placebo pill.

Is there a reason why you need to go back on ortho tri cyclen? They also have just plain ortho cyclen. It is true that it's not viable to skip the placebo's when you're on a triphasic pill.
Since you're just restarting, it's tricky. I would start with your next cycle(Oct 7?) and take all of your pills. Then when you start your new pack on Nov 7(could be Nov 5 because the pack is 28 days), only take your active pills and start your new pack the day you'd start your placebo pills. But bring feminine products in case. I had skipped my period before the same way, and once when I tried my period started halfway through, not even when it should have. I called my Doc and she said sometimes your body just needs to cleanse itself.
As for when to start - you could be a Sunday start(in which case you start taking your pills the Sunday after your period starts) or you could start on a day you and your doctor agree on depending on your cycle(a day 1 starter). In this case, I'd suggest a Sunday start so you can predict it better, but that would mean waiting until your Oct cycle ends, and then starting your first pack the Sunday after it starts. Get that?
Good luck!

I agree with the first answer, I am on Ortho Tri Cyclen and I just don't take the green pills in the middle (placebo pills) and take the first pill of your new pack the next day. And I would only do this for the month of Dec. since you usually start on the 7th, you should start the new pack a few days before that and then you shouldn't have a period that month and then your period should be normal the next month. I have done this a few times and it always works for me. It's not good for your body but it doesn't hurt to do this every once in a while. Good luck and have fun on your trip.

As always, double check this with your doctor, but the easiest way I know of to adjust your period while on the pill is to skip the placebo week (and therefore, skip your period) and move directly to the first pill of your next pack. I've had to do this many times (under my OB-GYN's advice) and it has worked well for me. The only thing is that the first time I did it, I felt a bit "whacked out" during the week I skipped my period. I figure it was just my body not being used to having a week off from the horomones.

Oh wait, I just reread your question and you already talked to your doc. Go for the skippping the placebo thing - it really is that easy!

Skipping the placebo pills is the right way to do it. If you are healthy and have no health concerns then you will be fine. If you have blood pressure or heart problems then you do not need to continuously take the pill and skip your period. As long as you don't have any health problems, you should be fine.

your doctor is correct, just skip the placebo pills and go onto the next pack. I am on a similiar pill and have done that a few times a year. It is not healthy to do it too often but my doctor told me once in awhile is harmless.
