it deffinately right becuase even though they lost and it was later discovered that they fought for a psychopath and a truly evil man but they truly believed that they were fighting for their country and they followed their orders i beleieve that there really is not argument that could possibly be acceptable to cause them to lose those benefits who cares if they lost i think that many of them were truly nice and kind people (accept for the SS psychos who killed jews, but I'm just talking about soldiers) just like most soldiers you know who fight for america (i am not saying that american soldiers are like nazis but the soldiers who fought for germany were most likely just normal people you know anddeserve to have the benefits they get and most likely more.

and im russian I grew up in a country people still remember WW2 very very well and they respect all veterans german and russian

Why wouldn't they? Are you suggesting that the German government should just ignore the soldiers that served their country? Any civilized country would take care of its soldiers after the war is over. Germany is no exception. Veterans benefits are for soldiers who served their country well.

They were soldiers and they were only doing their jobs, so why would it NOT have been right for them to collect veteran's benefits.

I assume you have never been in the service or had a shot fired at you in anger or you wouldn't have asked this rediculous question.

Why wouldn't they, especially the Wehrmact. The Waffen SS would be questionable tho, since the organization was convicted as a criminal org. by the Nuremburg tribunals.

Most were just grunts, doing their duty for their country, the leaders were the criminals.

If they were guilty of a war crime they should have long ago been punished for their actions. The rest of the soldiers were just that soldiers. They were in the German military and were promised benifits for such and deserve to recieve them.

The mere fact that germans and russians slaughtered each other in the name of silly ideaologies is enough reason to awrad both sides with medals.

I would think that the answer would be.....yes. Germany is a modern country and it takes care of it's citizens. This would include soldiers of WWI & WWII....assuming of course that they hadn't been charged with war crimes.

Why shouldn't they? It is common practice amongst all the modern powers. Many of them were only 15 when they were drafted - you can't really expect them to have had mature judgement.

Why not? American veterans get benefits for slaughtering civilians too.
