I posted the problem wrong, no wonder I was not getting it!

Use Order of Operations.
-18 - 9^2 / 3^3
First take care of the exponents
= -18 - 81/27
Now perform the division
= -18 - 3
Now perform the subtraction
= -21

There's two answers since you didn't put any brackets. Are we supposed to calculate (18-9^2)/3^3 or 18 -(9^2/3^3)?
Not only that ..is that minus 18 or just the:-......?

(-18 -9^2)/3^3

= (-18 -81)/27

= -99/27

= -11/3
