Quite possibly it will be ok. One thing to watch out for is that the new baby is of the same sex. BE SURE OF THIS!

Babies are pretty open to who their new buddies will be so I don't foresee any big problems. Some hints for you though.

Put them together in neutral territory like on the floor in a closed off area and make sure there is something delicious like lettuce to distract them. WATCH THEM and do not walk away.

There is going to be a lot of rumblestrutting and humping and carrying on as they decide who is going to be the boss. The big key sign you want to watch out for is if they rear up their heads and show their teeth to each other. That is not a good sign. Keep a very close eye on them after that. It could be a show but it could be a precursor to a brawl.

Things should simmer down pretty quickly and once they start eating together, you are golden. If they keep getting antsy and worked up, you are going to have to do introductions over several days. This does not mean it won't work out, just that they are stubborn and one doesn't want to give in. So keep trying in the same manner and then things should chill out and it will be good.

When it is time for them to be in the same cage, make sure the cage has been freshly washed and rearranged so that it looks and smells nothing like the 8-week old and he can't claim it as his. Make sure plenty of food is available and it is also very important that there are two houses to retreat to. The biggest arguments come from fighting over who gets to sleep in the house. So have two and forestall that argument.

I think you will be ok just proceed slowly and do this all supervised and make sure there is always lots of fresh produce available to them when they are together. Pigs who eat together bond together.

Best of luck.

If you want another one definitely get it while the one you have is still so young otherwise you'll have more trouble introducing them. You may want to have an additional cage set up though in case they don't get along and you have to separate them. Make sure to get another female though since that's what you already have. You don't want them to breed, then things will get way out of hand.

to seperate them for a while ; in different
cages & try again .
