Well, a couple of rather extreme answers to your question there. I have been searching for "the answer to life the universe and everything" for years, as many people do in life, through the reading of philosphy, religious texts, my own experience, deep thought.

I wish people would realise that the essence of Islam, Judaism, Chrsitianty, Skihism etc, of all these religions is to try to live your life in harmony, to give charitably to LOVE. Islam is no difference.

Many people have misinterpreted these texts - we see how some fanatics have interpreted the Koran for their own intent. 99% of Muslims are peacable, intelligent and respecting humans trying to make the most of their lives.

We see how Christians interpret the bible to serve themselves - how convenient to quote 'an eye for an eye'. Thing is - that's OLD testamant and not the teachings of Jesus.

There are extreme branches of Jusaism that concentrate on the dogma - rather than the essence of the messsage of 'GOD' - to live a decent life, to respect your family etc (see 10 commandments).

In answer to the main question, I do not know. It is natually important in some islamic communities to have this association with mohamed. Just like the Pope is God's worldy representative.

But I can't let hate-ridden comments go without discussion.

would anybody in their right mind want to even admit to being related to that rabblerouser. that nut has been the primary reason the islamist peoples are so backward and uncontrollable today. that book of garbage he supposedly wrote is enough to make everyone puke.

and i do not have very much that is nice for christianity and judism either. and who would want cows to poop in their bedrooms. sick.
