Generally, yes. Some incarnations are a little stupid and overly moralistic. But mostly, Superman is a good source of simple, beat-up-the-bad-guy action.

I haven't seen Superman Returns, but yeah, I like him. He's not my favorite, but he used to be. Before I discovered the X-Men flicks and Spidey.
