Katie, I absolutely agree with you. Actually, jeff Burton has always been in my top 5 favorite drivers (he is 4th). Burton races hard, has great strategy when he drives, and he rarely ever causes trouble with anybody. He has a heart of gold...always kind to fans, always participating in interviews, always thinking in a positive way. He has had some terrible luck in the past, mainly due to things out of his own control (like cars hitting him, etc). He kept his head up, though, and wouldn't let anything get him down. He just kept saying each week "We'll see about this week...who knows?" And finally he got what he deserved today: a win! What a battle today! He and Kenseth really fought for the lead, and I was yelling and cheering at home in front of the TV when I saw him take that lead away from Matt! Just amazing! I'm so happy for Burton today...and I always will always keep him as one of my favorite drivers! And yes, Jeff Burton sure did move up as my favorite driver today!

Jeff Burton has always been one of my Favorate drivers! In fact, he was the driver I picked as mine after Ernie Irvan was injured in 1994, and even though I've recently added others to my Fave list, I've never quit cheering for Jeff! Yesterday was a reminder of what a great and clean driver Jeff is! Any other driver would have punted Matt out of the way, but Jeff raced him clean!

I am still and always will be a Matt Kenseth fan but I have found a new respect for Burton. I think it shows a HIGH level of professionalism and respect for Kenseth & Burton to drive that hard and drive clean. Without naming names, because we all know who they are, a lot of other drivers would have put the other into the wall or spun the leader out but Kenseth & Burton showed how fun it can be to watch a race. Kenseth and Burton showed a lot of respect for not only each other but for themselves. Too bad we can't see more of this in NASCAR. Great race.

How can you have a "new" favorite driver? Unless your favorite retires, or is no longer racing for some reason, then, you should never have a "new" favorite driver. Being happy for him is fine, pulling for him when your driver doesn't have a shot at the win is fine. Otherwise- it's just jumping on the bandwagon, a fair weather fan. Have one driver and stick to it. It's called loyalty. I actually had a tear in my eye too- he, his wife, and crew were so happy- it was touching, but that certainly does not mean I will now root for him instead of my driver. Where's your loyalty?

He's not my favorite as that spot will always belong to Ralph Dale Earnhardt Jr but I'm totally happy to see Jeff Burton get back to Victory Lane. He drove his heart out today and I can't think of someone more who deserves that win!!

I have always liked Burton so I am right there with you. It is great to see someone besides the pretty boys/young guns win (I like most of them, don't get me wrong, but Burton is one you don't hear much about.) He is a straight-up guy who races clean. You can tell how well liked he is and how well deserved the win was by the number of people who came up to congratulate him. He is a lot smarter than people give him credit for--he is always exploring new ways to make racing safer. (btw--I like the insurance commercials.)

Nope, I wouldn't change favs because of a race but hats off to Burton, he really had to fight Matt for that one. It was good to see Burton win one for a change. Wasn't his last win like 2002 or 3? It was a long dry spell but maybe this will be the start of something better.
What is up with this racing clean stuff? Don't they know when someone gets in your way you should put them in the wall? Just joking, got that from the Jeff Gordon - Tony Stewart school of race driving:)

He's been in my top 5 since he signed with RCR. Seems like as well as he's been running this year, that it was only a matter of time before he won one. He seems to be one of the few drivers that everybody seems to like.
Way to go Burton!

I have always been a fan of Jeff Burton. I was surprised when he left Roush. Hope he keeps it up. He's one of the classiest and best drivers in NASCAR.

Well, Tony Stewart is and always will be my favorite, but I agree with you. Burton is one of my favorite drivers and I am so excited to finally see him in victory lane again. He definately deserves it.
