Halle Berry is regarded as the first African-American to win an Academy award for Best Lead Actress. Technically, she is only half African-American, her mother is Caucasian. So is she really the first black actress to win best lead or the first bi-racial African-American to win best lead?

I think she is the first bi-racial, im pretty sure there was an african american who won before she did. I just cant remember who it is right now.
