I lost my friend 3 years ago, sometimes mainly every night i dream about her.
The dream consists of me and my friend just hanging out having a laugh but at the end of the dream just before i awake she says goodbye and she has to go, everytime i wake up crying what could this mean, is it likely shes actually talking to me.

I love to believe that she is, but I doubt that she means to make you cry every morning. She probably just wants to spend some time with you. At least you and her get to say goodbye. No one can say for sure that she's talking to your or not. Whatever answer they give you is motivated by their personal beliefs about the afterlife.
I had a dream about my Grandpa when I was young a few months after he died. I remember him telling me it was okay to go and play. It was the only dream I've ever had about him. I wasn't that close to him and I wasn't a sensitive child. I didn't know how to grieve when I was young and I always hid my feelings. I always thought it was him telling me that he understood and it was okay to continue with life.

She probably is talking to you-she's trying to say goodbye so she can move on to her afterlife and let you move on. If you maybe didn't get to say goodbye that could be why your dreaming of her. Did you just recently start having the dreams? Is the time of year that she passed? pray about it. You could be going thru your own grief process-denial that she is gone and she's saying its okay and you can continue your grief process. It takes time.

Sounds like a great friend you had. She is telling you goodbye, to move on, not forget about her, but make new friends. I don't know if you got to say goodbye to her before she passed, so this may be her way of saying it too. Sorry about your friend, it seems like you were a good friend to her as well.

Sounds like there hasn't been any closure for you. You need to find a way to say good bye and move on. Make up some sort of meaningful ritual to physically and emotionally let go. And, don't worry it won't be forever. Love and friendship are eternal.

The crying means that you never wanted to say goodbye.
The dream reflex the wonderful times you spent together.
But now you must say I have to go, and the love we shared will stay in my heart forever.
She's not actually talking to you now. But It's the love she left in your heart what you are hearing.

She could be talking to you...but it all depends on what you want to believe. It could just be that, that is what you want to see and hear so your mind creates it when you sleep. The first thing i thought of though was....maybe shes telling you that you need to let go of her and get your life back on track

It means that you miss your friend very much. It's your way of still hanging out with her. Don't over analyze it though, enjoy it! I don't believe that she is contacting you this way though, sorry.
