i thank my grandmother she told my mother to name me what she did and not what she wanted....imagine.

My full name is Raymond. Until I reached secondary school, the only other person I knew with that name was Raymond Baxter (He presented a science/invention programme in the mid 60's-70's 'Tomorrows World'). I would have said he was in his late 40's at the time and really didn't make me feel any fondness for my name.
Apart from my Mum and Sis, oh, and my GF when she's angry with me, most people call me Ray.
I think, as much as I didn't like my name I never really considered what name I would have preferred so I guess I'm stuck with it anyway. ;o)

My name is a name sake. I had a sister that died before I was born, and our names are very similar. I am honored to have my name. (Earll is a nick name, so no, her name was not Pearl.)
