-Gay Fathers have the ability to be loving, caring parents the same as with any wannabe parent/s. However due to the fact that they are the same gender, a child is always going to be missing something that only a mother could truely provide. This said if gay parents can be given the chance to adopt, then in custody splits should the father not be given the same chance as the mothers in claiming legal custody of the child as it would be hypocritical to say that two men can look after a child without a mother there and a father who's been looking after a child since it was born does not get given that same right.

Next point to be said is what is best for a child? To be in a care home or to have two people who are willing to look after a child and give it the love he/she deserves. Now then personally I believe that a child regardless would rather have two men look after them regardless of the fact the child might get bullied by other children in school because they have two dads, because children are like that. I believe it is upto the child no matter how young to be given the choice and not be made to go with them if they didn't want to as this can just cause serious problems for the child.

Next point. How society depicts gay dads. Now then, for the narrow minded homophobics, mainly known as scallies and chavs, will be against it because they're ill educated in the topic of homosexuality. The same could be said about the elderly. This is a social group that is generally split in terms of accepting or denying homosexuals. This is continued into the asain and black ethnic backgrounds who are again split on accepting homosexually, therefore totally rejecting the idea they could ever look after the kids. Finally whats left. I'd say about 10 percent of the population thats accepting to two gay men adopting and I would presume that they would depict the image as being two caring, loving parents.

Now then what I think. I believe that regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexuality, anyone given that they would genuinely care and look after the child should be allowed to adopt. There are alot of children that need adopting, need loving and this is a chance to help some of those children.

However what I don't appreciate is Gays or lesbians not letting others express their viewpoint without biting their head off. I don't believe that homosexuals should adopt to satisfy their own need to have a family and try and be normal, to be accepted in society because that can't happen. You need a man and a woman that love their child and have that balance. Like people have previously said answering this question. What if I wanted to know about dating women or how to impress them? Wouldn't I be gently pushed into dating men instead, not that I'm really bothered but if you're a girl and you've just had your first period, then sorry but that would just be a bit too much to ask a man about.

Think I've bantered on enough now. Hope that's helped.

The image of self-confidence and of being cared for, which many straight fathers don't give their children because they're too afraid to show their caring side to their children.

deterioration of moral values and the sanctity of the traditional family unit. why not give necrophiliacs pedophiles and those into bestiality the same rights gay people are like muslims they cry anytime something is in any way non conducive to their way of thinking is said, they've cried wolf so many times they've conditioned us to believe we are the wolves and they are the victims, reality is we are the victims of their whining and puppeteering strategies to make their cause legitimate in the ignorant masses, besides any real legitimate movement shouldn't use sexual preferences as a launching pad for their issues gay or not a father is a father don't politicize it on those grounds

for a boy it is too hard he cant ask him about girls & if he did he wont trust his dad opinion, & the same for the girl if she asked about boys.
it is hard for boy to handle that idea of talking to a gay in the time he is discovering his sexual identaty, & there wont b that boys stuff between him & his dad.
for a girl it will make it hard she will always wonder if that new boy she just knew is gay & that will b the question in her mind each time she meets new boys

love, brotherhood and not accepting conventional images.

I beleive gay fathers might show others that love can manifest itself in different ways and conventional images dont hold water.

actually i think that it would be good to grow up like that. you wouldn't be influenced about what something it "supposed" to be like but what you want it to be like. its more like "its your decision" life rather than a "its what society wants" life. the parents wont teach them to be gay or straight but to be open minded and respectable.
