just the comfortable level
you dont wanna break your back trying to reach a very low guitar
or choke yourself to death with a very tight strap on your neck

i asked my friend about this and he said he put one leg on a low bench so the top of his leg was parallel to the ground. he set his guitar on his leg and set the strap to that height. i just prefer sitting down... it makes it a lot easier.
i hope this helps you.

you just have to adjust it to where it makes you comfortable when playing. if you want to play with real low you will just have to practice alot with it low. the lower it is, the harder it is to get your wrist to curl up around to where it needs to be to reach the neck
