why cant it be a purple house? can the president change the color if he wants to?

If the president has enough spare time to change the color of his house, then he should get his a ss out of Home Depot and start doing some real work. A certain president who's been in office for way too long takes too many naps and vacations and doesn't do enough thinking for my taste. If every other problem in the world is solved, then he can start painting his house.

The White House is painted with 570 gallons of exterior paint. To me, this means it could be changed - but why would a president want to? It looks awful purty the way it is and it matches the other neo-classical buildings in the city. And, the fact that it's called the White House is a lovely reminder to white America that our society is still a recovering apartheid state.

Yes, it has to be white. Purple would be upsetting to all the green people.

Its white to cover up the burn marks us Brits put on it cant remember the date,But no doubt John Prescot will apologize in time.

no because the president is just an employee of the govt. hes elected. its not his property to decide.
