Get onesies, get burp cloths, or wet cloths for when holding. Get a matress protector for accidents, get baby origel for teething, get a baby bath tub, and wash cloths, get baby towels. Get baby nail clippers and brush, make sure you have a thermometer, have plenty of extra sheets and blankets for the bed and just wrapping up with. You don't need two car seats you can just switch them out. Get a stroller, get sun shades for the car. I never used a changing table the floor was just fine. Get baby laundry soap.

You don't actually need 2 car seats - just get one of those travel systems with the seat that transers from the car to the pram and buy an extra base for the second car. This will also take the place of the "Moses basket" which you probably don't need.

You also don't actually need a changing table, but they can be a help on your back to have. A bassinet or co-sleeper is good for the first couple of months if you want to keep the baby in your room. Eventually you'll need a crib.

One of those portable play-yards (a "Pack 'n Play") is pretty handy to have as well, but not crucial. Also a swing or bouncy seat.

I would recommend a moses basket - I wasn't going to bother but I was given one as a gift, and it was an absolute god send. Stick to the basics for now though, but I would invest in a baby monitor later on. Most baby car seats fit in all cars but you can ask when you buy, and they will even show you how to fit it via seat belts, or you can buy a base that the seat just clips in (far easier and quicker). Oh and I used a dummy - many people are funny about them but I would buy one for emergencies - you may find that it is the only thing that will settle the baby. If you are going to bottle feed, you will need a steriliser but don't bother witha bottle warmer as a kettle and jug does a much better job. You will be fine I promise - I panic bought before Jake was born and I'm only beginning to use most of it now and Jake is almost 4 months old!

you need these and only these anything more is a waste of money!
1. Convertable crib :these turn into toddler beds sometimes even a full size bed for when they get bigger. One will last you years
2.crib mattress
3.crib bedding :bumpers, sheets blankets,
4. sleepers: newborns only need to wear sleepers or onsies you can buy a couple nice putfits for going out but don't buy a lot.
5.feeding supplies...If breast feeding:a pump and some bottles for weaning, breast pads for leaks, nipple cream if bottle feeding: bottles, nipples, formula For both:burp towels or cloth diapers(cheaper)
6. diapers diapers diapers and wipes lots of wipes
7. car seat: i recommend a carry along car seat it goes everywhere without disturbing the baby and you can buy an extra base for the 2nd car they also make travel combos that come with this and a stroller that the seat snaps into this will last you a year
You don't need a changing table, use a towel on the couch or table. Put a towel in the sink for a bathtub, some toys for looking at are all you need right now and maybe a pacifier if you decide that you want the baby to have one. That's about it to start off with. You will never be fully prepared but all it takes is a trip to the store and that can be an exciting adventure for the baby! Good Luck!!!!

erm.. bedding (baby sleeping bags are good for little ones) changing unit isn't necessary - changing mat will do, moses basket not essential, but is useful, burp cloths i.e. muslin squares are essential, car seat can be moved between the cars - can save money if you buy a travel system rather than car seat & pram, changing bag (with mat) for when you are out and about, bottles, steriliser and warmer if you are not breastfeeding
I also liked a front baby carrier, which is not essential but is nice

you can really spend a lot or a little! try to shop around a bit, especially on the web to get the best deals
also for you, invest in some good cheap fleecey tops - you'll have a lot of extra washing in the early days and fleece dries quickly without the need for ironing - fab because you'll be short of sleep for the first month or so and needing to take shortcuts in housework!!!!

Get a travel system, not a carseat and pram, cos carseat clicks onto pram so you don't wake baby and goes in any car, pram blankets
Depends how big baby is about moses basket, I only used for 2wk first baby, didn't bother with second.
Baby changing mat - do it on the floor then baby can't fall off anything.
Bedding you can get sleeping bags, so baby cannot throw covers off and some bottom sheets
Just get a mobile for cot and play gym to start, everyone else will buy toys
nappies, wipes, baby bubble bath wash, shampoo
towels and bath - don't need moisturiser straight off unless baby skin is dry
Baby monitor
Vests, babygros and bibs - not too many people will buy
Bottles? Steriliser? (If not b/feeding)
Dummy (no use needing one at 4am)

Think that's the lot

thermometer is good in case the baby has a fever and you can't ascribe it to teething... it is more for peace of mind really, but they only cost a couple of quid.
sudocreme - for nappy rash and any skin problem.
teething gel - absolute must
calpol (paracetamol for babies) - absolute must for teething esp if the teething starts before 2mths
infracol - and absolute must for colic.
you don't need a moses basket.
moisturisers... only one bottle until you know the skin type. if it does have dry skin, baby oil is good as well.
baby shampoo... i use this as bubble bath, and don't use extra either to wash hair, or extra soap for the skin.... soap is not good for dry skin.
on the clothes front. don't worry too much about dress up clothes... 3 out fits max really in the first 3 months, and you'll probably get them as presents. baby grows and bodies are what you will find it wears the most in the first 6 months because they sleep so much.
Bibs ( i had about 10 at the last count) !!!!! and also muslin cloths (i had five) some babies can spit up alot.
if you are breast feeding, get a hand pump... helps to get started if you have problems, as well as generally. and a bottle... get avent one that comes with a nipple and a non-leak mouth piece. i got one and it has goen the distance.
one car seat is enough, as you will probably carry the baby in the seat to and from the car.
dont' forget yourself!!!! plenty of sleep, hot baths, and at least one book that explains everything that will happen in the first year of development.

you can easily remove a car seat to swap from car to car especially if it has come with a travel system- do buy the base, you don't need a mosses basket nor a changing unit unless you really want it, babies grow out of clothes ever so quickly so i would advise to get 0-3 not new born and 3-6. get some Muslim clothes they are great for mopping up sick and if you are breast feeding they help to keep your modesty, a breast pump if you are breast feeding avent Isis manual is great and easy to use and breast pads chic-co are very comfortable, if you don't wish to waste your milk the invest in some avent breast shields they collect leaking milk which you can put into a bottle/ container and freeze for up to three months and nipple cream just in case, if not then plenty of bottles if you are then a few for those times when you need you time, steam steriliser and formula milk the midwives will be able to recommend a brand, if you are planning on weaning with home made food then a blender (4-6 months) and i would recommend a short story book as your baby will love to hear you read, you will need sudocream for sore bottoms. oh and fairy non bio and fairy concentrate really are soft and smell great they really do help keep delicate's delicate. i like the growbags they keep baby warm but no over heating you can add a blanket if its too cold, dont put a duvet on a baby till 12 months. do get a nursery thermometer for a guide dont get bed cots

A steriliser for the feedin stuff... baby monitors are a must..
get a baby changing unit with a built in bath... don't bother with a moses basket, get a cot thats suitable from birth..
little mitts for the hands so the baby doesn't scrawl him/herself..
why not get a buggy with a built in car seat & just use that as the car seat for the 1st few months???
a bottle warmer if you will be bottle feeding..
an endless supply of baby sleepsuits..

OK, you are english, your words are cute :)
I never used a Moses basket personally. I don't see swing or vibrating bouncy chair on your list; I can't live without those (6 babies over the years, by the way). you don't need toys for several months. I don't use a baby bath, I line the sink with a thick towel and do it in there. You should get some bottles and formula even if you intend to nurse the baby JUST IN CASE. You never know what could happen and you should have them on hand in case of an emergency to you or whatever. And a breast pump if you are going to nurse. Pacifiers.
