If the phone at the other end is completely silent, then They are probably prank phone calls. I dont think its anything to get scared over. Having been in your shoes a while ago, I did a star 69 on them. You dial *-6-9, and it tells you the number of the person who called you last.

england calling....

we get this all teh time, its poxy automated systems..the dial en masse, and wait to be picked up.. if theres no one there, its cuz the call centre johnny is already suckering someone.

when they call, and get thru...oh hello, are you calling about hte 1973 ford cortina, its got a..blah blah blah...i can keep thsi up for five or ten minutes, because i know all teh conversations are recorded... and eventually the guy says; well im sorry mate but i dont want to buy your car...and what makes you think i want your phone services...

they stopped calling after a month or so... barring the numbers only works on internal exchanges, thay cannot block overseas calls...

You can still call the cops. They have the authority to get phone records from the phone company. Then you'll know for sure who's calling you.

if you can record the calls, then go to the police,it may not be who you think it is,it may be some nutcase so you better play safe and report it.

I'd change my number and only give it out to people I trust.

have your telephone exchange change your number, they can make it so that you can't accept withheld numbers.
