look at Michelle Bachalet in Chile - the first woman President in a machismo-driven society. People there complain about her lack of a strong hand in decision-making, but they're not used to the way females handle things. I think she'll do a better job of consesnus building in the end, which will be better than the previous male president that didn't take much advice from anyone. I'm from Atlanta, GA.

Ted Turner was right. Men should be prohibited from running a country as they all want to fight because of big egos, little peckers, and a need to rule the world. What I don't get is women make up 52% of the world's population and seem to have NO interest in running it - why is that? 52% of anything is a majority, and the message the women are sending, as far as I can tell, is this - "we really don't care" because we have to drive the kids to soccer/basketball/ karate after stopping three or four times for gas in the SUV and McDonalds, we don't have any interest in what kind of world our kids will grow up in.

There is no difference between a woman heading a country then a man. Why would I judge her decision making by her gender ? Im going to base on her character and the merit of her promises to the country. I don't care if its a woman or a man as long as they do their job proper .

first head of elected goverment was in SriLanka.
then India, Bangladesh
hence it happens in every continent except North America
So It would be nice to have female president

I am a female American.
I think a female president is fine....not because she's a woman but because she's qualified and her country trusts and respects her.
