I think so I have taken lexapro and I think it helps but the side effects can be a little over whelming. I felt like my head was huge and like I wasnt in my body lol does that make sense....I had an uncomfortable feeling in my throat....dizziness.... but this does all go away after like 2 weeks and It does help!!! You just have to get through the side effects and some people dont have any so keep that in mind too!

I can only speak for personal experience. I suffered from Chronic Depression for nearly four and half years. I tried numerous medication even lexapro, eventually i went onto Zoloft and i found that, that helped the best. At first like all anti depressants you are going to feel like crap for the first few weeks, as the medication gets into your system. But you will soon learn that the tablets will help you to deal with things better. I have now been off all medication for ten months and feel great. Although it may not feel like it at the moment, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Trust me i have been there. Take Care.

Daughter on Lexapro and doing very well with it. She tried other meds and they did not do so well. Everyone is different and it may not work for you. Don't be discouraged if the first one you try does not work. I was put on Efexor after my mom died from a long hard battle with cancer. I tried Zoloft first and it was like taking a sugar pill. Did nothing. Second one I could not tolerate the side effects. Although Efexor worked well for me I would not suggest it. I read a lot about it on-line and it does not sound so good. I know when I was going off it I probably could have committed murder and also could not write a legible paragraph. Be careful going on and off any antidepressants.

My boyfriend was prescribed with Lexapro and it worked well for awhile but seemed to quit working. Not sure if it was because of him also being on Adderall and it didn't mix well, or if it just wasn't right for him, but for awhile it worked really well. It saved the relationship.

I recomment not to get into prescription medication before attempting other safer methods. valerian root, manzanilla, and tilo works good for that condition.
boil water first, then add a piece of valerian root to the boiling water then wait until it dissolves like in 5 minutes. add sugar and lime as needed. drink it as tea.
