do you still think that American military power is a good way to promote tolerance and democracy in the Middle East? Has your position on this changed in any way over the past two years?

no good, as China and Russia get stronger, we grow weaker since we put all our force on that place. And now the whole world hates us cuz Russia opened everyone's eyes. Once we succeed in Iraq, which we haven't since some say we have, we will grow more powerful. and russia doesn't want that, SO, he's giving the Iraqi's and Iranians weapons so we can't succeed.

All in all, we've gotten weaker because of Iraq. And I told everyone it was no good to go there, but no! no one beleived me...

Now look what happened?

If you look at the history of dictators, very, very few have voluntarity given up their positions, especially to allow the people they control democracy. Franco of Spain is the only one I can think of. Some dictators are removed by foreign force, others by revolution. The middle east is complicated by the history of the region where democracy has never been allowed to develop, except perhaps Egypt. Tribal fiefdoms are the norm, look at the royal family in Sauda Arabia.
With world history as a reference, I can only surmise that democracy would have never had the opportunity to develop in Iraqi without the use of force, this time it just happen to be coalition forces.

Position hasnt changed..,our military is doing fine but the politicians need to keep the hell out of it and let our guys do what they do best..,kill the enemy. But theres too many pussified libs that want to continue fighting for the rights of the toilet scum our guys are getting rid of.I have no tolerance for appeasers and then they say the war is failing..,if it is,its their fault for tying our militaries hands behind their backs.Cant kick azz with a hand tied behind your back can you?God Bless our troops. And the President said it was going to be a long war..,did everyone forget that????

Nope.... The only other option is to turn the whole Middle East into a glass parking lot. That may happen yet if Iran keeps on the road that it is going down now

I`m against violence,
because violence causes violence.
I`m not supporting Bush and I never was.
You can not promote democracy by guns and killings, can you?
And where is that famous weapon of mass destruction
(or whatever)...???
I don`t understand one thing: why every American president have
to start a war, or even two?
Like that Clinton guy, with bombing Serbia,
or now-days Bush with Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan....
How long will that American monopoly last?
Until Japan returns nuclear bomb or something..
impeach the bush!!!
peace

Were there, we can't just leave, let's just Git R Done....Blame bad intelligence.. not bush.. any president would have made the decision to invade Iraq provide the intelligence that was given to him and the anxiety after 9/11 to root of sources of terror..
