If I try and save images from the internet to my computer they are automatically saving as bmp files but I want to save them as a jpg file. Is there any way of altering a setting on my computer so I can do this.
All replies will be appreciated:)
Thanks

If it's only offering BMP as an option try:

Clearing out the temporary internet files folder
Ensure Internet Explorer is fully patched as it's a known bug in earlier versions/unpatched versions.

The images are in Bitmap format by default. Otherwise, try this, before clicking on save, scroll the drop down menu in that pop up (pop up which u receive after clicking on 'save picture as') in front of 'save as type' choose 'Gif' or 'Jpeg' whatever & then save.

Supposing you dont see 'Jpeg' (also called jpg) in the drop down menu then its possible all the pictures received by you are in bitmap format only. You can do nothing about it. In that case open bitmap & save the same image as 'jpeg' through bitmap.

Right click on the file then save as and choose the extension you want.

You should be able to go to properties on the file and change it. I'm not sure how but you can probably figure it out from there.
