What were your thoughts on the movie? How far off were they on Bible Thumpers?

Mandy Moore's character is a bible thumper.
And it was meant as a satire. Get a sense of humor!

Dave, exactly! It's similar to how Dogma poked fun at Catholicism. I'm Catholic and can quote most of that movie. Buddy Jesus!

I don't think the movie is disrespectful towards Christianity at all. It's just poking fun and your right, it is a satire. One of the themes is that you don't have to be crazy (like Mandy Moore was) to be a good Christian. Some of those neo-con Christians who believe homosexuality can be cured and that teen pregnancy is awful just need to lighten up and get with the times.
1) If you set such high religious standards and values for other people, make sure you can follow those values yourself.
2) Better yet, your values are YOURS, and other people have any right to disagree with you, and any right to be as faithful a Christian as you.

loL. I love that movie. I think some people find it hard to appreciate because they have never really experienced people like that. But honestly, the movie was like a documentary of my Catholic High School.
